Positive Promotions Selects Outlook Technologies' eServices to Create Its Marketplace for Promotional Goods

Flushing, New York - March 30, 2000 - Outlook Technologies, Inc. will begin implementing its CMS/Merchant for Positive Promotions as the company scales its business to build an e-commerce solution in the $15BB business-to-business advertising specialty market. CMS/Merchant, the e-commerce system in Outlook's Web-based Content Management Suite, allows merchants to quickly create product merchandising effects with shopping cart, check-out, payment services and order fulfillment functions. The scalability and flexibility of CMS/Merchant will be the key to managing over 1800 products with multiple pricing scenarios and coordinating with the various catalog and marketing campaigns that Positive Promotions applies.

Outlook Technologies' system will be used by Positive Promotions to provide businesses, institutions and consumers with detailed information on the merchandise that corresponds to price and status as well. Positive Promotions operates within both of the primary market systems: first, the ad specialty distribution system where supply companies manufacture/import and brand products to sell through distributors, and second, the direct marketing systems, where catalog companies sell directly to consumers. CMS/Merchant empowers companies to meet the expectations of and capitalize on both business-to-business and business-to-consumer markets. The Web site will launch this summer to coincide with the company’s fall promotional season.

"We are impressed with [Outlook’s] comprehension of our business and ability to provide flexible solutions for our e-commerce strategy," stated Mark Taxel of Positive Promotions. "The CMS system is impressive."

System Features

The features of Outlook Technologies' CMS that are important for e-commerce Web sites include:

  • Flexibility to integrate with business critical applications.
  • Scalability to grow with the business and transaction volume.
  • Versatile system to handle complex transactions.
  • Fully integrated Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools.
  • Built-in security modes to protect confidential information.
  • Seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Real-time, dynamic content publishing and data management.
  • Supports editing and maintaining product data details.
  • Separates Web page format templates from merchandising content that allows the merchant to assign product group responsibilities.
  • Special events, special areas, promotions, discounts and gift certificates can be offered at the universal, catalog or product level.
"Outlook is extremely pleased that Positive Promotions is utilizing our services in their rapid online ascent. Outlook continues to drive the marketplace with turnkey, customized solutions that yield rapid implementations and immediate cost benefits," said Lou Manousos, Outlook's CEO and President.

Positive Promotion's growth is fueled by understanding its customers' needs and developing mass-customized solutions to meet those needs. This underlying marketing skill set is required for success in the Internet-driven marketplace where early adapters of one-to-one solutions are the long-term winners. Positive Promotions begins with a strong customer base of over 100,000 and a 50% customer retention rate. CMS/Merchant will allow Positive Promotions to build its online presence and grow by streamlining purchasing and order fulfillment processes online, offering a wider range of products, offering more complete, event-driven programs, increasing customer retention rates and expanding the customer base to other market segments.
